Barca risk losing youngsters

09:00: Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona risk losing a raft of talented teenagers to Premier League clubs.

The publication claim scouts from Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are frequently in attendance at the La Masia academy to survey Barcelona’s brightest talents in action.

Mateu Morey, Sergi Gomez and Juan Miranda are three names believed to have been enquired about, and can leave for a paltry £2.5million compensation fees.

Philipp Max blow

08:45: Bad news for people wanting to see Augsburg left-back Philipp Max playing in the Premier League next season.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton have been linked with the Augsburg defender in recent weeks.

But Augsburg chief Steffen Reuter says the club are under no pressure to sell.

“That our players are interesting, shows that they’re producing good performances. We are not interested in selling,” Reuter said.

Godfrey on radar

08:15: West Brom and Crystal Palace are eyeing up Shrewsbury midfielder Ben Godfrey, the Daily Mail reports.

Both clubs have watched the 19-year-old extensively this season, the paper says, while Swansea also reportedly sent scouts to track his progress.

The teenager is currently on loan from Norwich, and has been a regular for the Shrews this season.

Toffees sweet on Soumaoro

07:30: Everton are interested in signing Lille defender Adama Soumaoro, according to the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old has also impressed clubs such as West Ham, Monaco, Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund, the paper says, who could all join the race to land him.

Real Madrid receive Thibaut Courtois boost

06:30: Real Madrid have been given a boost in their pursuit of Thibaut Courtois, with the Chelsea shot-stopper reportedly keen on moving back to the Spanish capital.

Courtois spent three years in Madrid plying his trade for Real’s arch-rivals Atletico on loan from Chelsea.

It was there that he was able to establish himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world before returning to Stamford Bridge in 2014.

However, the Belgium international has consistently been linked with a move back to Madrid, but to play for Real.

And Spanish newspaper Marca claim Courtois remains an “outside bet” to move to the Bernabeu.

Valencia plot Walcott move

06:00: Valencia are plotting a summer swoop for Theo Walcott, according to reports.

The attacker has made only seven starts for the Gunners this term, with them all arriving in either the Europa League or EFL Cup.

The limited game time means Walcott is now almost certain to make Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup in Russia.

The club are thought to be trying to sell their star assets instead of risking them walking away for free.

And El Gol Digital report he will be offered an olive branch by Valencia.

Pique leads dressing room revolt over Coutinho

04:30: Gerard Pique is said to be furious that Philippe Coutinho is set to be handed a bigger contract than him at Barcelona, should the club lure him away from Liverpool.

Barcelona have not given up hope of signing Coutinho, despite Liverpool supposedly not willing to listen to offers in the New Year.

Coutinho made it clear in the summer that he wanted to leave when he handed in a transfer request with Barcelona having three bids knocked back.

But his potential arrival could spark unrest in the Barcelona dressing room.

That’s according to Diario Gol, who claim Pique is not happy about the prospect of Coutinho coming in and being handed a bigger contract than him.

Ross Barkley transfer doubt

03:00: Sam Allardyce has conceded he can’t control whether or not Ross Barkley leaves Everton.

Chelsea even agreed on a deal before Barkley snubbed the chance to join them.

Both Premier League clubs are likely to resurrect their interest in the England international when the transfer window reopens in January.

And Allardyce admits he’s not sure what the 24-year-old will decide to do.

“It’s a difficult one,” Allardyce said.

“I haven’t had the opportunity yet to find out the true, or the whole, scenario and say, ‘Where does it lie?’ and then make a decision one way or the other.”

Mourinho to offload Mkhitaryan for Ozil money

01:30: Jose Mourinho is supposedly willing to offload Henrikh Mkhritaryan in order to make room to sign Mesut Ozil from Arsenal.

Mkhitaryan has found himself out of Mourinho’s first team plans in recent weeks and hasn’t even been in the match day squad for United’s last four Premier League matches.

The Red Devils boss openly criticised the Armenia international last month for his “decreasing” performance levels.

And the Mirror claim Mourinho is willing to sacrifice Mkhitaryan in an attempt to free up the funds to sign Ozil.

The Germany international is out of contract at the end of the season and would be available for a cut-price fee next month.

But it is reported Mourinho will still need to sell before he can bring in anyone else.

Rose to United, Shaw to Newcastle

22:15: Danny Rose will replace Luke Shaw at Manchester United – but he will have to sit on the bench at Old Trafford, according to Shaka Hislop, who reckons Shaw is destined to join Newcastle.

“I think Shaw is likely to leave. Jose Mourinho, as much as he’s started him a bit of late, I don’t think he’s ever been a fan,” Hislop told ESPN FC.

“Newcastle would have him, gladly, and probably that fresh start is exactly what Luke Shaw needs.

“Danny Rose, he had a few things to say earlier in the season when he was injured, after Kyle Walker left, criticising Tottenham’s transfer policy.

“I thought the writing was on the wall for Danny Rose and he would be a welcome addition going to Manchester United.

“The thing with this transfer though is that I feel that with Ashley Young has been very good on the left-hand side of defence.

“Rose, five years younger than Ashley Young, so it makes some sense in that regard. Saying that, as of where we are right now, I don’t think Danny Rose is an upgrade on Ashley Young.”

Calvert-Lewin has formed an impressive partnership with Wayne Rooney in attack this season, scoring six goals across 28 appearances in all competitions.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce said: “Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a really exciting talent, he’s improving all the time and he has the athleticism and attributes to become a top player in his position.”

Fellow youngsters Jonjoe Kenny and Mason Holgate have also committed their futures to Everton, keeping them on Merseyside until June 2022.

Craig Burley: Arsenal are miles out of it

19:00: Arsenal would not win the Premier League even if Manchester City weren’t there, according to ESPN FC pundit and former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley.

Arsenal are currently seventh in the table, a massive 19 points behind City at the top, following the 0-0 draw with West Ham yesterday.

And Burley says that gap would would be too much for Arsenal to claw back, let alone the 19 points to City.

“Let’s just take City out of the equation right, take them out. They still aren’t in the title race. Take City away, just move them,” Burley said.

“They’re still not in the title race, even if we give them the grace of taking Man City out of the equation.”

Rodriguez happy at Bayern

18:30: James Rodriguez insists he is not thinking about returning to Real Madrid from his Bayern Munich loan spell.

And the European champions are asking for £79million to allow him to return to the Premier League.

Coutinho or Ozil? That is the question…

17:30: Are you sitting comfortably? Good, because this transfer line is a complete minefield!

Barcelona’s bid to sign Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho continues, but the Catalan giants are unwilling to let the issue run throughout the transfer window, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper says reports in Spain suggest club bosses have decided that if a deal cannot be done by the end of December, then they will need to move on.

They could then look to sign Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, the paper adds.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Ozil favours signing for Manchester United over Barcelona should he leave Arsenal.

The paper says the Germany international has made it plain to friends that he is eyeing a switch to United, while Jose Mourinho is said to be watching his situation closely.

Coutinho is keen to get a move sorted to ensure Barca don’t pursue other targets instead.

Wilshere in the dark

“I’ve just played my first game in the Premier League, I’m concentrating on staying fit and staying in this team. The contract stuff will look after itself.

Iniesta on Neymar

13:00: Andres Iniesta admits he would be annoyed if Neymar left Paris Saint-Germain for Real Madrid in the future.

“Anything can happen in football and I would not rule it out,” Iniesta said.

“We’ve seen numerous times how there are situations which seem unlikely or impossible but they end up happening.

“If Neymar was to join Madrid? It would annoy me in the sense that he wins matches and would strengthen a direct rival, but I’m not worried.”

Liverpool eye Vrsaljko

12:00: Liverpool could reportedly battle Napoli for Atletico Madrid defender Sime Vrsaljko.

According to The Sun, the Reds are hoping to tie up a deal for Vrsaljko.

And that’s despite having Nathaniel Clyne, Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold at their disposal.

Liverpool are not alone in their pursuit of the £22m-rated ace though.

Napoli are apparently eyeing up Vrsaljko as they look to replace the injured Faouzi Ghoulam.

Willian happy at Chelsea

11:00: Willian says he is happy at Chelsea, despite speculation of a move to Manchester United.

The Brazilian has struggled for regular game time under Antonio Conte this season.

He said: “I’m always happy here at Chelsea. I really like this club a lot with my heart. Yeah, I’m very happy.

Desailly on Hazard

10:30: Marcel Desailly says Chelsea would be able to replace Eden Hazard if he left the Blues for Real Madrid next summer.

“We are still in the season, no player is more important than the club,” he told Goal.

“Even when [Didier] Drogba left, one of the great players, the spirit of the club continued. They continued to win.

“We will be sad if Hazard has to go but I am sure that Roman Abramovich is still passionate about the club. He will bring in another player that can allow the club to be at the same level again.”

Real Madrid hatch Eden Hazard plan

The wing-wizard has been sensational for Chelsea once again this season, scoring eight goals while also providing seven assists.

The La Liga giants were heavily linked with a move in the summer and Hazard has hinted he could be tempted to leave Chelsea on numerous occasions.

And Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim Zidane has not given up hope of bringing the 26-year-old to the Bernabeu.

It is said the Real boss held a meeting with Perez stating his desire to sign Hazard at the end of the season.

And Zidane believes Hazard could be the perfect partner to Ronaldo in Real’s frontline.

Cristiano Ronaldo bombshell

09:00: Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly brought in his lawyers in order to help him engineer an exit from Real Madrid.

Despite an indifferent start to the La Liga campaign by his very high standards, Zinedine Zidane has given Ronaldo his unwavering support.

And according to Spanish TV station El Chiringuito, Ronaldo is considering his options.

The report says he is consulting his lawyers and asking them to strike a deal with Los Blancos to help lower his release clause.

At present, the 32-year-old has an £879million buy-out clause which is more than his Barcelona rival Lionel Messi.

Suarez sends Barcelona transfer ultimatum

08:00: Luis Suarez has reportedly warned Barcelona against eyeing a deal for a new striker, or risk him leaving.

That’s according to Diario Gol, who claim the Uruguay international is furious at rumours linking the likes of Antoine Griezmann to the Nou Camp.

While Suarez is far from short of goals in the Spanish top flight with seven in 12 games, he has failed to find the net in six Champions League matches.

And that has caused concern at Barcelona with club president Josep Maria Bartomeu keeping his options open about bringing in more firepower.

Chelsea make move for Thomas Lemar

07:00: Chelsea are reportedly prepared to let Michy Batshuayi join Monaco on loan to sweeten a deal with Monaco to sign Thomas Lemar next month.

And the Telegraph claim they are prepared to offer Batshuayi on a loan deal as well as offering a lump sum.

Ozil chooses between Man Utd and Barcelona

06:00: Mesut Ozil would prefer a move to Manchester United over Barcelona, if Arsenal cannot meet his extortionate contract demands, according to reports.

According to the Daily Mail, the German would favour a move to Old Trafford over the Nou Camp.

It is thought Arsenal may look to cash in on their star in January, rather than letting him leave for free in the summer.

He would also be able to sign a pre-contract next month if he wants to moved to foreign club.

But recent reports say United are his preferred destination.
